"BATS FOR A CAUSE"
The first annual "Bats for a Cause" tournament in support of the BC Children's hospital foundation was held in July 2009. A total of 12 teams entered and together raised $13,000.
The second annual "Bats for a Cause" was held in July 2010. Sixteen teams participated on a cloudless hot weekend, held on the four Missions Sports Field baseball diamonds.
Everyone had an incredibly fun time, both in bringing together teams to enjoy the softball competition, as well as team competition to raise as much money as possible. The final tally brought tears to the organizers' eyes:
A net amount of $32,000 was handed over to Sunny Leung, representing the BC Children's Hospital Foundation!!!
